PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

Personal protection equipment (safety glasses, masks, overalls, gloves etc) is supplied and is expected to be worn by all workers, especially items that provide protection from exposure to asbestos.

Ensure all power tools have a valid safety tag, and report any to supervisor that may have damaged cords.

Always use approved safety cut out switch to plug power leads into.

All workers on roof are required to wear footwear with rubber soles for grip.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

When roof level is over 3 metres from the ground, there will be fall protection in place. Or if under 3 metres and perceived that there is a potential risk, then fall protection will be in place by a licensed scaffolding supplier. Any roofing fence or fall protection must not be removed for any reason during works.

Access to most roofs will be from a ladder, secured at roof level so as not to fall or slide.

When working at heights, all precautions should be taken to avoid risk of injury or falling.

MOVING OF EQUIPMENT

Workers will not pass roof sheets or any equipment up or down in an area that is within 3 metres of power lines.
